Doc's Bio

==> "3 Minutes with Doc" <==

Above is a brief excerpt from a message that Doc preached to the Cowboy Church of Santa Fe back in 2013.  In addition to the bio below, maybe one of the best ways to get to know Doc as a preacher of the Gospel of GRACE is to listen to this 3-minute recording...

In 2008, Steve “Doc” Timmons answered the Lord’s call to preach & teach the "Amazing GRACE" of the New Covenant.  Already an Ordained Crisis -&- Master Chaplain, he enrolled in Trinity Theological Seminary - completing a Ph.D. in Pastoral Ministry in 2014.  It was his third doctoral degree…& Doc jokes that it only took him 40 years to get through college!  From 2012 to 2016, Doc served as the “Trail Boss” of the Cowboy Church of Santa Fe County, and as the Senior Pastor of the Sangre de Cristo Fellowship.  Following the Spirits leading - & supported by our fellowship in Santa Fe - Doc & his wife Dixie relocated to Angel Fire, New Mexico - high in the Sangre de Cristo mountains - to launch GRACE Mountain Chapel Ministries with a simple vision:

“To unveil the person of our Lord Jesus Christand to shine the light of the Gospel of GRACE!"

But before that…for 20+ years in over 40 countries around the world, Doc specialized in serving global organizations across two of the most vital and complex elements impacting operations, performance, survivability, and resiliency:  People -and- Communications.

He’s the guy that got called to help an individual - or a global organization - find “shelter from the storm” when the unimaginable became real.

Doc holds advanced degrees in management, psychology, & theology –and- professional certifications in crisis leadership, communications, human resources, and executive / organizational coaching.  He’s also an Ordained Master Chaplain with certification in Crisis Chaplaincy and has served on the ground in a number of global crisis & disaster events.

Doc believes that no individual or organization…including the church…is immune from the reality of having to respond to and deal with crisis & disaster.  Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 teaches us this: "Again, I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to the skillful; but time and chance happens to them all.  For no one can anticipate the time of disaster…” And our Lord assured us in John 16:33 that “…In the world you will have tribulation…”  Whether proactively preparing internally to respond to events such as natural disasters, pandemics, or acts of violence or terrorism - or preparing to offer external support to the community in a time of major crisis - churches MUST have programs & action plans in place to deal with crisis & disaster preparation, response, intervention, and recovery.  As his schedule allows, Doc consults with churches and ministry organizations to assist them in preparing to “keep the light shining” when its needed the most
